Christian Fellowship - Romans 12 gives us a glimpse of The Body of Christ and Christian Fellowship.
Verse nine starts out with this phrase, “let love be without dissimulation.” It is a Greek word “Aupokritos” that means the real thing or to be undisguised. To be a real friend, to have real care and concern for other Christians. No false front, no self-serving reasons, to be real in friendship and love for the fellowship!
II Corinthians 6:6 adds to this discussion by talking about “workers together:” How? “By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned.”
Our church is a family that enjoys the friendship and fellowship of other Bible believers. Our common faith in God’s Word and our desire to be obedient to His Word.
Notice Romans 12:10, “Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love,” that is love with brotherly affection. This is the love and protection of a family, the family of our Christian fellowship!
All this and Heaven too! We can enjoy the Grace of God, forgiveness of our sins and a wonderful Family Fellowship on earth. A little bit of Heaven each Sunday on the way to Heaven!
